The times are changing, and so are businesses in the Scottish Borders. We want this region to be far more than a ‘hidden gem’ between Edinburgh and Newcastle. We want to reach out and get our stories across about the fantastic products and companies here, the creative and entrepreneurial excellence, and the special places and lifestyle waiting to be discovered.
Borders Creative is changing, too. We have a renewed vigour with a leaner directorship/commitee and are widening our membership to include both Borders-based creative businesses and third party suppliers (printers, sign makers, vehicle livery specialists etc) who we consider to be a vital part of the creative sector. We now have a change of chair in Tania Paterson, and former chair Giles Etherington is helping Business Gateway to work in a more joined-up way with the creative sector and the network of business organisations in the region.
We know you’re all very busy, but so are we! So we really appreciate people who want to give time to support our efforts. Borders Creative is run by a tiny handful of volunteers who also run full-on creative businesses, and we’d love a few more new faces!
This is a time of unprecedented attention on the Borders and its people and businesses. Let’s make the most of it!
